Ilha(s)
2016 // Funchal.
A series of three works on collectivity, confession and oversharing generated from a two week walking residency in Funchal, Portugal.

(pt.1) I’ve only lived on islands. a communal meal/ conversation over food inspired by dishes from different islands.

(pt.2) In the end we’re all... lost. A sound installation/reading room made from unedited binaural recordings of a day & night walk across Madeira. Played inside the tent used on the walk. With written notes and publications for the audience to read/spy/add to.

(pt.3) In the end we’re all... tourists. a performance presentation using pinhole photography, sound recordings and improvisation. Confessions/fears/hopes are shared in relation to migration, tourism, feminism, memory, and the politics of artists’ residencies.
In collaboration with  Andre Neely. With support from MultiMadeira.
